SoundCove
A clean, straightforward local and home-network (SMB) audio player
This page is a translated version provided for convenience; in case of any discrepancy, the Simplified Chinese version prevails.
Design Philosophy
Do what a player should do well — easy song selection, smooth switching, and resuming right where you left off after closing and reopening the app. No feature bloat, no interruptions; give your attention back to the music itself.
Core Features
-
Folder-based playback
Each folder acts as a playlist, sorted naturally by filename (track2 correctly comes before track10), matching how local music is actually organized.
-
Four playback modes
Sequential, list loop, single-track loop, and shuffle. Shuffle uses a restorable seed, so switching back keeps the same random sequence.
-
Dual-dimension progress memory
Both the list index and the position within a track are remembered. On reopening, you are offered "Last played: song · 02:13 / 04:56" and can choose to resume or start over.
-
SMB home-network streaming
Configure an SMB share (IP, account, password, SMB3 encryption) and play remotely with the same experience as local files; subnet scanning and connectivity checks included, credentials stored encrypted.
-
Background & lock-screen controls
Background playback with lock-screen media controls — Android media notification and iOS lock-screen widget, native experience on each platform; HarmonyOS background playback and system media session are coming in a future version.
-
Batch caching & resume
Chunked streaming cache, resumable downloads, global concurrency scheduling, and a quick-switch overlay for the play queue.
More Features
-
Formats & cover art
On Android / iOS the underlying engine (libmpv/FFmpeg) supports extended formats such as WMA/ASF, APE (Monkey's Audio), raw ALAC, and WavPack; on HarmonyOS a self-built FFmpeg module supports WMA/ASF (including WMA Pro / WMA Lossless). DSD (DSF/DFF) is not supported due to the patent landscape and the energy cost of PCM transcoding on mobile. Album covers can be picked from your local photo library, with a letter-based fallback when no image is set.
-
Multilingual interface
Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean are built in; the interface follows the system language automatically and can also be chosen manually in settings.
Privacy Policy & Terms of Use
-
Privacy Policy
How we collect and use information: no personal identity data is collected, the full list of network requests is published, and your data stays on your device. To fix defects, anonymous diagnostics are collected when the app crashes (reported automatically via Huawei's crash service on Android; kept on-device only on iOS and HarmonyOS). Applies to all platform versions (Android / HarmonyOS / iOS); available in five languages.
-
Terms of Use
The terms of service for this app: important notices, service content, licence and conduct rules, paid service (membership), intellectual property, disclaimers and liability limits, and dispute resolution.
-
Open-source delivery repository
Sources, object code and build scripts of the LGPL libraries (libmpv/FFmpeg, libsmb2) for each release, fetched by version tag on GitHub. The full open-source notice is available in-app under "About → Open-source notice".
